Overview
MBL Yuba Tatha Sana Byabasayi Krishi Karja is designed to support youth and small farmers in starting or expanding their agricultural businesses, in line with the circular issued by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) for subsidized agricultural lending. The product is governed by the Krishi Karja Karyabidhi issued by NRB.
Scope of Financing
The loan is provided for the following agricultural and agro-based activities:
• Vegetables production, processing, and storage
• Seed production, processing, and storage
• Forestry-related occupations, floriculture, and horticulture
• Poultry and livestock farming
• Ostrich, turkey, and duck farming for meat and egg production, storage, sales, and distribution
• Fruits production, processing, and storage
• Milk production, processing, sales, and distribution
• Fishery, storage, sales, and distribution
• Mushroom production, processing, and storage
• Slaughterhouse, meat processing, storage, sales, and distribution
• Herbs production, storage, sales, and distribution
• Production and processing of sugarcane, coffee, tea, cardamom, ginger, turmeric, olive, sunflower, allo, and lokta
• Beekeeping
• Millet, buckwheat, and chia production, storage, sales, and distribution
• Organic and inorganic fertilizers
• Cotton, wool, and silk production, storage, sales, and distribution
• Sheep, goat, and yak wool production, storage, sales, and distribution
• Agricultural tools, equipment, process development, procurement, sales, and distribution
• Agricultural lime industries
• Any other agro-based business as defined by the Government of Nepal from time to time
Eligibility
• Nepalese citizens (individuals or groups)
• Minimum age: 18 years at the time of application (by citizenship certificate)
• In case of a firm/company: must be fully owned by Nepalese citizens
• Registration or non-registration with the competent authority based on the loan requirement
• Detailed report on business operation and loan utilization required
